IIM Rohtak
IPMAT Indore is the entrance test for IIM Indore's five-year Integrated Programme in Management — the oldest and most sought-after IPM in the country, drawing roughly 30,000 applicants. Its paper is known for a distinctive Quantitative Ability (Short Answer) section with no options to guess from.
IPMAT Rohtak is the entrance for IIM Rohtak's five-year IPM. With around 13,000 applicants it is less crowded than Indore and uses an all-MCQ format with a dedicated Logical Reasoning section, making it more accessible to students who prefer reasoning over heavy short-answer quant.
Choose IPMAT Indore if IIM Indore is your first choice and quantitative ability is a genuine strength — the short-answer section rewards students who solve accurately without options to fall back on.
Choose IPMAT Rohtak if you want a strong five-year IIM option with a friendlier all-MCQ format, or if logical reasoning is a relative strength. Many students sit both to maximise their chances.
Yes — and most serious aspirants do. The two tests share roughly 90% of their syllabus across Quantitative and Verbal Ability, so a single foundation prepares you for both. The only meaningful add-ons are short-answer quant drilling for Indore and dedicated logical-reasoning practice for Rohtak.
